Dissipative Control over the Toehold‐Mediated DNA Strand Displacement Reaction

Here we show a general approach to achieve dissipative control over toehold-mediated strand-displacement, the most widely employed reaction in field of DNA nanotechnology. The relies on rationally re-engineering classic strand displacement such that high-energy invader (fuel) is converted into low-energy waste product through an energy-dissipating allowing spontaneous return original state time. We process reversible (up 10 cycles), highly controllable and enables unique temporal activation systems. here two possible applications this strategy: transient labelling structures additional cascade reactions.
